Chatham-7 step-thru beach cruiser is where classic beach style meets an “I-can-do-anything” attitude. This comfort-driven design features plush grips, a cushy saddle, and smooth Shimano derailleur and RevoShift grip shifter for a ride just as relaxing as a day spent on the beach.

Chatham boasts double-walled rims to protect the tubes in your tires from the spokes on your wheels. This bike also sports improved lightweight pedals and durable boron steel axles. Scaling slopes and uneven roads is even easier with the Shimano derailleur and RevoShift grip shifter. This drivetrain is precise, hardwearing, and long-lasting.

The step-thru frame is hand-built and made out of steel for ultimate reliability and better than ever shock absorption. The lower standover height of this style frame makes getting on and off the bike easier while the wide cruiser saddle, high handlebars with cushy grips, and thick Wanda tires make your ride more comfortable. We’ve agonized over these details to make sure you get a softer, more dependable ride. The height of the handlebars encourage an upright riding position, relieving your back of unnecessary pressure. The Wanda tires grip the ground well, so you’re in control of your bike.

Scaling slopes and uneven roads is even easier with the Shimano derailleur and RevoShift grip shifter. This drivetrain is precise, hardwearing, and long-lasting. You can do just about anything with seven speeds and ultra-reliable and responsive Promax alloy V-brakes. The brake levers are built into the handlebars for ergonomic comfort. They’re easy to use and keep your hands on your handlebars.

    Measuring Inseam

Inseam is the most important metric to consider when deciding on bike size. In order to take this measurement properly, follow these guidelines:

    1. Stand upright with your feet 6-8" apart.
    2. Using a tape measure or tailor tape, measure from the bottom of your foot to the top of the inside of your leg.
    3. Compare your inseam measurement to the standover height of the bike. You should have about an inch of space between your body and the top tube.

I love my new bike, very comfortable and well made. It is a beautiful shade of lilac. I haven’t ridden since I was a kid and always jumped the chain, but not on this bike, smooth shifting!

Plan to take it to a bike shop..

Bike arrived with derailure out of adjustment and brakes ineffective/unadjustable. Had to spend money on bike shop to fix it. Brakes still weak/lack stopping power.

      Catastrophic Derailleur Failure

The price and looks were perfect, and I thought the components would be fine as Shimano is a well regarded company. Unfortunately, that was not our situation. Before I rant, I want to make sure that I say that the order processing and delivery exceeded my expectations. I had originally bought this bike for a Christmas present, and it was saying a couple weeks for delivery. Actual deliver was only 5 days, so it arrived Well in advance of Christmas. Awesome! Bike showed up well packed and requiring very little assembly, again, better thank I thought! So, fast forward to the first ride a several months later when the weather wasn’t either snowing, raining, or just plain too cold to enjoy a ride. About 100 yards from our driveway, the rear derailleur “exploded”. It sounds a bit dramatic, but that’s what it sounded like and that’s what the aftermath looked like. The rear derailleur Shepard off from the derailleur hanger and ended up getting caught in between the rear wheel, frame, and chain. This not only killed the derailleur, but bent the hanger, chain, and scratched the **** out of the frame and rear wheel. When I contacted the customer support, I explained what happened and attached a number of photos showing the carnage. I sent my email on Wednesday, and on Friday I had a response saying, “Hi there, Your USPS tracking is #### Thanks!“. Awesome, I’ll get a replacement bike and be able to send this one back in that box, I thought. Unfortunately I received only a new rear derailleur (the wrong one, I might add)... nothing else. I had hoped for a replacement bike since it was still new and had been rented unridable and disfigured. Unfortunately we don’t even have something that is usable at this point. Maybe Retrospec can fix this situation, and I’d be happy to update the rating if they do. Until then it’s one star for great shipping, and reasonably good communication turnaround times. Unfortunately for the product, I’m pretty bummed out and there doesn’t seem to be a way to upload any of the photos documenting my issues.

      Nice solid bike

Bought it for my girlfriend and she loves it. easy to put together, took it to the local bike repair shop and had them adjust the brakes and gear shifter. That’s was a little to tricky but only cost $30 bucks and it works great
