How to measure my inseam for a bike

Your inseam can help you find the perfect sized bike (measuring it properly is similar to pant inseams but measured a little differently). Here's how they work:

  1. Stand upright with your feet 6-8" apart.
  2. Using a tape measure or tailor tape, measure from the bottom of your foot to the top of the inside of your leg.
  3. Compare your inseam measurement to the standover height of the bike. You should have about an inch of space between your body and the top tube.

Beaumont Beauty

Ive only been able to take it out on a few rides, but it’s been excellent for the price. Putting it together was not bad at all, and gave me some good insight into the bike, which I appreciate. Aesthetically, it’s gorgeous, got a lot of compliments on just a short ride. Ride wise, once I tightened up the screws its been great, definitely has a few gears that maybe make a bit of noise. They still work, and given the price, I understand. Excellent for anyone looking for just a casual, inexpensive, stylish yet utilitarian bike.

2 years of anticipation, and it exceeds expectations!

I’m so very happy with this bike—in functionality, in aesthetics, and in overall quality for such an affordable price point. After my last bike bit the dust in summer 2019 I soon after found the Retrospec Beaumont online. It became the apple of my eye but I wasn’t ready to buy another bike. So I waited, and waited.. and recently decided it was time! I took another look around the market, both online and in the local shops of Boulder, Colorado where I reside. I hope this leaves an impression on you: after 2 years of waiting, and after considering maybe a dozen other bikes, it still chose this bike. I had no previous experience with Retrospec or their products, I just liked their brand style and mission, and LOVED everything about this bike. This bike was the lowest price of all that I considered with similar features, functions, and materials. Now that I’ve built it and had a week to ride it, I can confidently say its NOT a low quality product. :) Most others that were similar were priced at $600-800 before tax. To me, its a bonus that my top choice happened to be the least expensive. The matte finish is lovely; I LOVE the green and brown color scheme, and getting a bike with a cargo rack and multiple gears was a must for me. I zip-tied a milk crate to the cargo rack and that works wonderfully for little errands, grocery runs, and bringing miscellaneous things along for a ride to a park or friend’s house. To contextualize my review and my choice: I’m not a bike ‘pro’ or expert, but I can handle simple maintenance. I wanted something that looks good, can carry cargo, and can handle the hills around Boulder. I bought it as a nonessential addition to my lifestyle for purpose and playfulness—to use for joy rides and pleasant exercise, running some errands or riding to a coffeeshop, and riding to class (I’m a grad student). I wanted something I would use mostly on roads/pavement, but that could also handle brief passes through dirt, gravel, or grass. I want to give a grateful shout-out to Retrospec for providing a great-quality and beautiful bike. And I wanna give an additional shout-out for their customer service.. my bike arrived in pretty banged up condition (it was obvious FedEx had handled it quite roughly during shipping). The bike was so badly bent up that Retrospec ended up swapping it was a whole new bike. They quickly sent me the replacement, communicated very well with me throughout the whole ordeal, and provided a small refund to compensate for the time-consuming process of what I went through on my end. I feel fully taken care of by and grateful for their service team. I’m happy to rep Retrospec on this beautiful, functional bike. And I’ve already gotten a few compliments on it! I hope you give Retrospec a shot, because if the rest of their products match the quality and aesthetic of this bike then I’m sure you’ll be pleased. And if you run into any issues I’m confident their customer service team will take good care of you like they did with me. I hope this review was helpful! Cheers! -Cody W., September 2021

Just About Perfect

Once we understood the "old school" nature of the bike, the assembly went smoothly. My teenager loves the unique look and color of the bike. It is exactly what she needs to get to and from school. The seat that comes with it is a little uncomfortable, but that is a small item.

Love this bike!

Aside from being aesthetically pleasing, it was an easy bike to put together for a novice… I ride it about 18 miles a day a few days a week and I would say I wish the seat was more comfortable because I love the look of it. Otherwise it has served me well so far and I haven’t encountered an issue yet!

I love love love my bike.

Set up was much easier than I expected. Definitely do it with a buddy and look up a Youtube video, but if you've got those two things down it'll be a breeze. Rides so well and takes everyone's breath away! Truly the best combination between functional and beautiful.
