How to measure my inseam for a bike

Your inseam can help you find the perfect sized bike (measuring it properly is similar to pant inseams but measured a little differently). Here's how they work:

  1. Stand upright with your feet 6-8" apart.
  2. Using a tape measure or tailor tape, measure from the bottom of your foot to the top of the inside of your leg.
  3. Compare your inseam measurement to the standover height of the bike. You should have about an inch of space between your body and the top tube.

Over all the purchase was easy. But the bike was broken and couldn't get any help to get it fixed

Never heard of Retrospec but so far, so good.

As a senior adult who used to ride and is coming back to it I started shopping online for a new entry level bicycle to use for exercise and rebuilding my riding chops. Most of the bikes in my price range were bikes (mostly Schwinn, Huffy and the like) for sale in retail stores like Walmart and Target. I have nothing against Schwinn or any of them. My last bike was a Schwinn I bought at a bike store over 20 years ago and sadly let the weather get to it. My local bike shop had nothing close. I stumbled upon Retrospec when searching "best men's bikes under $500." The Atlas was on sale and had very positive reviews - more positive than most of the retail store bikes. It comes with Shimano transmission components with the shifters built into the grips and the latest modern braking systems. Otherwise it is a simple, straightforward 21 speed hybrid. Of the two colors offered I liked the matte blue finish best. It rides good so far though I have had it only a week. It arrived in a box with instructions and tools to assemble it but I took it straight to my bike shop and paid them $99 to get it road ready. At a fraction under six feet tall I thought I would need the largest frame. It is almost too big. My crotch barely clears the top tube. I probably could have gone either way on this or the next size down. The saddle is an appropriate size but very firm. I intend to buy a gel-filled saddle cover. Tomorrow I plan to go for my first long-ish ride. After a few short-ish rides I have to say I'm looking forward to it!

best bike!

Seriously, this is the most comfortable bike ever. Super easy to assemble (and this was my first time ever putting together a bike). I use it to ride to work and it’s the perfect smooth ride!

Fantastically pleased

I have been wanting a Retrospec bike for awhile to commute in the city. I was so happy to get this bike. It handles Philly roads very well and is comfortable on long bike rides. Very much pleased with my purchase and I recommend this brand of bike to everyone!

love the bike but need to somehow raise handlebars

I really like the bike and I feel like it's a good fit for my size but I really need to find out how to raise the handlebars. My lower back hurts after long rides and it doesn't look like I can raise these handlebars.
