Two-wheel style, with four-wheel support. Your beginner rider wants to cruise with the big kids, but not without a little help. Koda is Retrospec’s newest generation of cool-kid bikes. Koda comes in two popular sizes: 12” for new riders 1.5-4 years old and 16” for 3-7 year olds close to ditching those training wheels. Koda is equipped with top-rated safety features for smooth, intuitive riding for beginner cyclists. This sporty bike is perfect for little riders speeding off to the races. Koda’s sturdy steel frame is built to withstand every learning curve. A protected chain guard keeps their legs safe as they pedal off to the next pursuit. Sidewalk whips, park zips, and even some trip-ups along the way are to be expected. Koda’s specially designed frame, adjustable seat and handlebars, and removable training wheels allow the bike to grow with them.

Koda is designed for early riders familiarizing themselves with bikes. Balanced training wheels help them find their center as they pedal off to their next adventure. Bright colors, fun streamers, built-in water bottle holders, and more make Koda the coolest kid bike to ever hit the sidewalk.

SIZING: Don’t guess your kiddo’s height – growth spurts mean you should take a quick measurement. There will be some overlap so pick the size that gives them the most range to grow. Most kids' bikes are measured by wheel size.

You may be tempted to bump them up a size to “grow into”– don’t. It’s better to keep them safe and comfortable than get another few months of growing time on a bike.

Ensure sure your child has the motor skills to operate the bike. Retrospec Koda uses coaster brakes (back pedal brakes) for safety, ease, as well as a handbrake to develop braking skills until your child is older and more experienced to ease into handbrakes and gear shifters.

Frame: Low-profile, easy step-over/stand-over frame design, easy on/off and learning for tiny tots.
    Fork: Steel 1" threaded
Saddle: High-back saddle with handle prevents kids from sliding off the back, easy-to-carry, great for the parental clutch grab.
    Handlebar: Steel 22.2mm
    Stem: Quill, Steel bottom/alum top
    Seat Post: Steel 25.4mm/1"
    Tires: 12 (16) x 2.125. Large profile, 2.125 tires safe, smooth ride.
    Rims: Steel
Brakes: Coaster brake rear + sidepull front: learn to use hand brakes, with safety of the foot/coaster brake - many options for learning to stop.
Brake levers: Sized for smaller hands, smooth safe plastic lever.

      Disappointed

We were super excited to get this bike. Our daughter is 40” tall so we thought we were right in the size range. Apparently we’re not as she can barely touch the pedal when it is at the bottom and the seat all the way down. The chain guard came rubbing on the chain, so that had to be bent. We’re missing the screws to attach the basket. This bike is heavy and is likely going to be hard for kids on the smaller side to pedal. We will likely be returning.

      Customer satisfaction

I recently contacted Retrospec in regards to a bike I bought for my then 4 year old son for Christmas- now 5. My son when first riding showed little interest in a bike and much preferred scooter. Now since the beginning of pandemic, we are trying to find different ways to keep healthy- I thought of giving the bike a go. This bike even at max height adjustments is too small for my son. Contributing to his discomfort and difficulty riding.customer service suggests that my son is too big- based Off a photo of my son that they requested of me. Disregarding the fact that their own site gives age recommendations up to 7 years old! They tell you “ not to size up”. Says so on their site- CHECK IT OUT.I am not happy with representative telling me to try to sell it elsewhere.

      Pretty nice bike.

We love the design of it. The tires look like they wont last very long but I might be wrong. So far so good. We have gone on a bike ride with it twice so far.

      Multiple cancellations of my order

Terrible. I ordered one bike for my little boys birthday- I got a cancellation two days before it was suppose to arrive. Then I ordered another bike that was in stock in a different color hoping it would arrive. I called customer service and they confirmed that my order would be fulfilled and then 2-3 days before it should have arrived I received another cancellation. There’s no way I could get another replacement in time for his birthday- that’s why I confirmed over the phone. I ended up having to go to Walmart and buying him a garbage bicycle. We had planned to all get retrospective bikes- it was such a disappointment that we’ve changed our mind.
