How to measure my inseam for a bike

Your inseam can help you find the perfect sized bike (measuring it properly is similar to pant inseams but measured a little differently). Here's how they work:

  1. Stand upright with your feet 6-8" apart.
  2. Using a tape measure or tailor tape, measure from the bottom of your foot to the top of the inside of your leg.
  3. Compare your inseam measurement to the standover height of the bike. You should have about an inch of space between your body and the top tube.

    Beautiful bike!

It's lightweight, comfortable, and fast! I purchased this bike to train for a sprint triathlon and it is perfect. I look forward to riding it every day. Also, a shout-out to Retrospec customer service. Swift, courteous, and very helpful!

    Rides nice and easy

Out of the box and assembled, this bike has been very smooth and easy to ride so far! All parts are working well. I replaced the pedals and seat due to personal preference. I will primarily be using it to commute to/from work, with an occasional fun ride every now and then. For my purposes I can definitely recommend it at this price point!

An excellent entry into the world of road cycling

I wanted to start cycling for exercise, and I didn't know where to start. I owned other Retrospec bikes in the past, so I was really excited when I found they make a road bike.

Assembly was very straightforward, taking me about half an hour. I'd recommend using a ratchet to assemble, as it makes securing some of the screws far easier. I will note that the instructions did not explain how to attach the gear shifters, which is frustrating. However, they were relatively easy to install. I took the completed bike to a local shop to have my assembly checked. They made minor adjustments to the brakes and the derailleur, and I was good to go.

The bike rides very well, with almost no sounds beyond the wheels turning. For anyone considering this as their first road bike, note that it takes a small amount of care to get on and off and to get adjusted to the narrow frame and tires. Since receiving the bike, I've put maybe 50 miles on it and reached speeds of 20 miles per hour. This bike is more than enough to start cycling. I'd strongly recommend.

It’s a decent bike, but the instruction is very unclear. There was no instruction for mounting the gear shifts, so I just went with my guts. It’s hard to tighten the gear shift into the handle bar using just the equipment Retrospec gives you, so I recommend using a drill to tighten the gear shifts into the handle bar. It’s a beautiful bike, and I will use it mainly to work out around my rural town. Not recommended for city roads.
