It does exactly what it says, but may not be exactly what you want
The installation is simple on any bike similar to the picture shown with the item, but the ca. 1 " diameter tube caused a problem for us because of the mounting mechanism on our trunk mounted carrier. The Velcro straps on it ended up having only about 1 " of overlap maximum and the weight of the rear of the bikes was lifting that part of the tube upward. Nothing happened, but it gave us a feeling of insecurity we had not expected.
