I ordered the Jude folding bike on April 30th and received it on May 6th. I rode the bike for the first time earlier today prior to writing this review..
Pros: The bike is well built and the ride quality is excellent. The quick release latches are robust and fastens well. The bike easily folds and unfolds.
Cons: The seat comfort is satisfactory as feels like I am sitting concrete. I would prefer a seat that had a little bit more cushion. The quick release to fold the handlebars was a little confusing to figure out, however once I watch a couple of YouTube videos I figured out how to release the latch to fold the handlebars with these. The foam packaging and the bike instructions with manual have an extreme chemical smell to it, which I had to open the window in my house during initial assembly to air out that chemical smell from the packaging.
Recommendations for Retrospec: Please use shipping packaging that does not have strong chemical smells to it. Secondly, I recommend Retrospec to include a more cushioned seat with the bike. Lastly, I would recommend for every bike sold on your website you have an accompanying detailed assembly video with close-up in how to fold and unfold the bike. As I said previously folding the handlebars was confusing to figure out at first and the only reason I figured out how to fold it was from watching YouTube videos of other people who have purchased this bike.
Recommendations for Consumers: I strongly recommend this bike for a consumer…

65 and Retiring via a Judd
The Judd Folding Bike single speed is the BOMB! I love it and ride it 5 times a week. People always ask the brand and compliment her. She's a looker.
The only PROBLEM is the chain keeps coming off. I have had it repaired/serviced TWICE, and it is still happening, so I am not sure what to do. She is not even a year old. Any advice?
Hi Liza,
Thank you for this outstanding review! We're so pleased that you're enjoying your Judd Folding Bike -Single Speed. It's a bummer to learn about the issues with your chain. A member of our customer service team will be reaching out to you directly to help troubleshoot the issue. We look forward to connecting soon!
I need a larger seat. I could get padded seat cover or wear padded pants.
I purchased a Judd about 6 months ago and like it so much, that I got rid of my Electra townie and ride the Judd daily just about everywhere I go. I am 80 and live in Montgomery, Al. People look at me kind of strange. Not sure if because of the Judd or my long hair and beard.
