A child’s bike size is best determined by the diameter of the bike’s wheels. Wheel size directly correlates to frame size. As wheel diameter increases, so does the kids’ bike frame size. This will vary slightly based on height, but below is a brief breakdown.

• Age: 1-4 yrs / Height: 28-38” / Wheel Size: 12”
• Age: 3-4 yrs / Height: 36-40” / Wheel Size: 14”
• Age: 3-7 yrs / Height: 38-48” / Wheel Size: 16”
• Age: 5-9 yrs / Height: 42-52” / Wheel Size: 18”
• Age: 7-13 yrs / Height: 48-60” / Wheel Size: 20”
• Age: 10-15 yrs / Height: 56-66” / Wheel Size: 24”

Yes! You can always purchase our stock kids’ bikes in bulk orders, and we’re happy to offer discounts depending on how many you buy. The same is true for our customized kids’ bikes. However, we have a minimum order quantity of 100 bikes per frame size for custom models. If you’re ordering custom kids’ bikes with multiple color schemes, the minimum is 50 per color.

Yes! Even if you don’t have a design in mind, if you let us know your goals, budget, and provide information about your brand’s voice and messaging, our talented in-house design team will be happy to help you design custom kids’ bikes to fit your needs, from frame sizes to color schemes.

Our minimum order quantity for customized kids’ bikes is 100 bikes per frame size. If you’re ordering multiple color schemes, the minimum is 50 per color.

Lead time varies for custom kids’ bike orders. On the low end expect around three months total from the moment you start designing to the moment your bikes arrive. On the long end, expect five months. The design process takes anywhere from 1-2 weeks, as does the approval and payment process, and then factory production takes ~60 days. From here, you can expect around one month for shipping.

We do not have an in-house maintenance or repair team at Retrospec. However, our dealer network is diverse and expansive, so as you go through the order process, we will do our best to connect you with a repair shop in your area that will be able to maintain and repair your kids’ bikes as needed.

Bike safety for kids starts with the right gear: a properly fitted kids’ bike helmet and protective padding, and a properly sized bike. If your child is young, you could also consider starting them with a baby walker or balance bike to learn fundamentals, before graduating to a bike with training wheels. Once they’re riding, practice in safe areas, supervise young riders, and maintain their bike. Have fun exploring on two wheels, and don’t forget to stay hydrated!.

We offer a variety of kids’ bike helmets and protective knee, wrist, and elbow padding—and dozens of color schemes—at Retrospec. While we don’t typically customize helmets and padding beyond offering different color scheme choices, if you’re interested in applying branding, logos, or other unique designs to pads and helmets, contact us and we’ll work with you to make this happen!
