Highly recommend this to anyone buying their first SUP. This being my first one, I am very impressed. Size is perfect and the minimalist style is great. Not too flashy or cheap looking. After doing research and shopping around this was the best bang for my buck. The only negative thing I have to say is that it took me a few minutes to understand the balance of it. But that’s on me. Great product and company. 100% would recommend.
I was a bit skeptical a blow up paddle board could offer a good experience. So far it’s been great, holding up very well in choppy and calm lakes. Easy to blow up and pack away to save room. I’m doubtful I’ll have to repair any holes as the material is super durable.
Everything works pretty well! The fin attachment mechanism is a little bit clunky and the pressure gauge on the pump doesn't always work perfectly, but overall for the price a very good board.
Easy to inflate. Super light to carry. I keep it inflated in my garage and walk 1/4 mile to a lake near my house. Sturdy ride. Stiff board. The dog rides on front. Great board. High quality. Would buy again in a second.
Great paddle board for the price. The difference between the 'armorstrength' PVC and 'military grade' PVC used on Retrospec's more expensive MSL-series paddleboards is not clear on the website. I own a paddle board from a different manufacturer that also claims 'military grade' PVC, and the 'armorstrength' PVC is significantly thinner and more pliable in comparison. This makes the paddle board lighter and easier to roll up, but also less rigid when on the water. The rigidity of this board on the water is still adequate, and I think the lower weight is a good trade-off, provided the board is still durable. I don't have enough time on either board to comment on a difference in durability between the two types of PVC. Overall, the accessories with this board are hands-down better than the accessories on my board from a competing manufacturer. Single removable fin design is a plus- the extra fins are not needed on flat water. Fin attachment is clunky and rudimentary, but workable. Two-phase pump (inflates on both upstroke and downstroke) is great added value- this pump inflates significantly faster than single phase pumps from competitors and this attribute should be highlighted more clearly on the website. The paddle is average quality and just barely long enough- I'm 6'3" and use it at full extension. Assuming the board holds up over the years and I don't have issues with punctures/durability, I think it's a great value in the entry-level inflatable SUP market.
