We came over from the UK for a winter ascent of Mt Whitney in late December 2025. There was a big dump of fresh snow so rather than relying on ice axes and crampons we decided snowshoes would be helpful. Arriving on Sunday we went down to Retrospec when it opened at 0830 Monday morning. It wasn't apparent from Google Maps that this is not a retail store, just a distribution centre, but we had a fantastic service from Brian on security who took our online order number and found the snowshoes for us. Awesome customer service and a real game changer for us as we had a limited time in the US and needed to start the climb the same day.

The snowshoes are great. Very robust, lightweight and comfortable with good grip from the articulated crampon. They have a snowboard style binding with rear strap and were a good fit even with Scarpa winter mountaineering boots and insulated yeti gaiters.

Hopefully Retrospec management will see this review and pass on our thanks to Brian. He's a real credit to your company. Thank you.

I love these snowshoes! Lightweight and small enough to turn easily. The ratchet bindings work great.

Good Call on the Snowshoes

Awesome for the money. We're mostly downhill and touring skiers and wanted these as options for our travels. The showshoes are solid for the money and the bag is perfect for packing with the rest of our gear. Good transaction and delivery by retrospec delivering to Winter Park Colorado while we were there on a trip.

Satisifed.

Have not had a chance to use the shoes but everything seems satisifactory.
