Is there any government assistance or incentives for purchasing an electric commuter bike?
Currently, the U.S. states that offer (or are potentially launching) incentives to purchase ebikes—either statewide or in specific regions—are: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, Washington, and the District of Columbia.
Do I need to wear a helmet on an ebike?
Ebikes can reach much higher speeds than traditional bicycles (up to 28 mph with our most powerful commuter models). As a result, improper use of an ebike can result in injury or death, and there is always the chance of an accident caused by another cyclist, car driver, or pedestrian. Wearing a helmet dramatically mitigates the risk of serious injury or death when riding an ebike.
