Nice bike, but could be better
The bike is beautiful and fits the recipient just fine! However, I was disappointed in the instructions and the quality in the details. The instructions, especially for adjusting the gears, needs to be written for non-geeks. Very frustrating to fall into a working procedure. The front fender is apparently misaligned. That is, the struts holding the fender to the axle are attached off center, causing the tire to turn perilously close to, and subject to rubbing, the tire. I will redouble my effort to adjust, but this is not good. Would encourage you to consider the unskilled nature of some of your buyers, like 70 yr old me!

Best Bang for your Buck
I have a fleet of Retrospec bikes, five total. Two for my kids and three for adults. The price point for the quality and components is the best you can find anywhere. I have looked at every single bicycle vendor I could find via chat gpt and google and nothing compares to Retrospec. If you want a higher quality bike, you need to either pay for it or upgrade your components.
As for the Beaumont, I was a little bummed that they downgraded some of the features from my original Retrospec bike which I think was an old Harper? Basically, the Beaumont does not have the quick release axles and little things like the pedals and rear carrier seem to be a little less high quality. However, the functionality of the V breaks and the rear carrier spring that clamps bags into place is a nice touch. All in all it was an even trade.
The only misleading thing about this bike based on the specs are the Pedal Thread size. It says it is a 1/2 inch thread but I am pretty sure it is a 9/16 thread size. I bought new pedals that were 1/2 inch and same TPI but they were too small. I think someone at Retrospec needs to confirm this.

Great everyday bike!
This bike is awesome if you're looking for a bike to ride around daily for work, over to a coffee shop or just for leisure around a park/neighborhood.
I got the Beaumont City Bike - 7 Speed in Olive color at 54CM (Medium) size. I'm a 5' 10" guy and I will say the bike is on the taller side with me having to put the seat as low as possible in order to have my feet be in a "normal" position. The bike is fairly easy to assemble and works like a charm. As you may have read in other reviews the seat is not the most cushy in comparison to seats out there on the market, but it is still a great seat nonetheless!
I love this bike because it's so fun to ride and I always get compliments on how it looks. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone looking for that everyday, city type of bike. Happy riding!!
